![]() Is this at all a normal way for a wife to treat her husband in these times?Ĥ. What is the difference between the mother and daughter of Wide Sargasso Sea?ģ. ![]() What is the difference between Antoinette's mother's insanity and that of Bertha Mason in Jane Eyre?Ģ. ![]() "I told you," she said, "I told you what would happen again and again." Her voice broke, but still she screamed, "You would not listen, you sneered at me, you grinning hypocrite, you ought not to live either, you know so much, don't you? Why don't you go out and ask them to let you go? Say how innocent you are. Mason, calling him a fool, a cruel stupid fool. So it was all the more dreadful when she began to scream abuse at Mr. "She left him, she ran away and left him alone to die," said my mother, still whispering. Her irate words to her husband are inappropriate, but it is debatable whether they are warranted, and whether she still has a sense of right and wrong. In this passage, her mother shows a loss of self-control, but this instance could not as easily be construed as insanity as Bertha's lack of self-control in Jane Eyre. In Jane Eyre, Bertha Mason's insanity is hinted to be inherited from her mother. Wide Sargasso Sea is a detailed and intricate portrait of one of Jane Eyre's more one-dimensional characters. The main source of trouble is Rochesters insane first wife, Bertha Mason, a lunatic Creole who is locked in the attic of his country house, Thornfield Hall. ![]()

We met Blake briefly at the end of Fandom, when Denver and Mason went to see him in LA on the set of his latest movie, and we also met his future (unbeknownst to him) love interest, out and proud actor Jordan Brooks, who made a bet with Blake to get Blake to take a leading role in the queer rom-com** he’s about to star in. ![]() ![]() The record label gave him the “quiet one” persona, and he got used to being “the other guy”, the one people always forgot was even IN the band! Yes, we have a found family trope, and I love it-not to mention that Sam meets Fred Rococo (Murray Hill) there, who is a fabulous transmasculine person living their fullest life as the head of the agriculture department at the local college. Instead of it being a church function (which Sam would not be comfortable at), she finds it is an eclectic bunch of queer folks having a good time and celebrating music. Sam, who has a deep love of singing, reluctantly attends. Joel pulls Sam out of her downward spiral and takes her to “chorus practice” at a church. Sam literally finds her new best friend Joel (Jeff Hiller) after falling apart at work. It may seem like a weird place to start a show, but it works so well. When Holly passed away, Sam’s life lost focus, and she became adrift in her loss. After her sister Holly fell ill, she returned to her hometown to take care of Holly. It tells the semi-autobiographical story of Bridget Everett, who plays the main character, Sam. Each one is only about 30 minutes long, so it is very binge-able. His transition came to hit him in 1690 and he was young and confused because his parents hadn't explained the process. Left alone in the world, he worked as a stableboy and was barely able to keep himself fed. He was only able to survive because his father hid him away while he watched, albeit with partially impaired vision, the Lessers murder his family. In 1677, at the age of 20, his parents faced a tragic death to the lessers. His first lesson in statecraft was when his father had him memorize the names and locations of the graves of the traitors who attempted to assassinate Wrath the Fair, even witnessing four of them. In 1672, Wrath was brought by his father to his first meeting with the Brotherhood.
